Position: Shuttering Foreman
Department: Civil Construction
Reports To: Site Engineer / Project Manager
Job Purpose
The Shuttering Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all shuttering, formwork, and carpentry activities at the construction site. He ensures that formwork is installed safely, accurately, and according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage shuttering carpenters and helpers on site.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, formwork plans, and specifications.
- Plan, assign, and monitor daily shuttering activities.
- Ensure formwork is erected, aligned, and dismantled safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Supervisors, Steel Fixers, and Concrete Teams.
- Inspect formwork before concrete pouring to ensure quality and compliance.
- Monitor manpower productivity and material usage.
- Ensure all work is completed within project timelines.
- Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety regulations.
- Report daily progress, manpower attendance, and site issues to management.
- Ensure proper care and storage of shuttering materials and equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Shuttering Foreman in construction projects.
- Good knowledge of formwork systems, concrete works, and construction methods.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of site safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
