The Workshop Controller is responsible for coordinating and controlling the workflow of service and repair jobs within the workshop. This role ensures the efficient allocation of tasks, timely completion of work, and clear communication between service advisors, technicians, and the parts department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocate repair and maintenance jobs to technicians according to skill and availability by coordination with foreman.
- Monitor job progress and ensure timely completion to meet promised delivery times.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure required parts are available.
- Keep service advisors updated on vehicle status and any delays.
- Track workshop efficiency, productivity, and utilization.
- Maintain accurate job card documentation on CRM and time clocking records.
- Ensure quality checks are completed before vehicles are released.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical background in automotive service (diploma or equivalent preferred).
- Experience in workshop coordination or service operations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in workshop software.
