Senior Accountant (Côte d’Ivoire) Jobs in Remote at Naran
Job Summary
Naran is a mobility fintech company operating across emerging markets, primarily in Africa and Latin America. Our core business is building and financing vehicle fleets for ride-hailing and delivery drivers. We combine fleet operations with asset-backed financing — essentially, we help drivers access vehicles, earn income through our platform, and ultimately work toward vehicle ownership through transparent, sustainable financing solutions.
We’re a fast-growing, international company with our group finance team based in Dubai. We’re looking for a Senior or Chief Accountant in Abidjan who will be our local finance lead, managing full-cycle accounting, tax compliance, payroll, and playing a key role in our ERP implementation.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process in compliance with the SYSCOHADA Révisé standard, including day-to-day operational accounting as the business scales.
- Oversee all tax compliance obligations, including filing declarations, processing payments, ensuring adherence to electronic invoicing (FNE) requirements, and serving as the primary point of contact with the tax authorities (DGI).
- Handle end-to-end payroll management, including social security contributions (CNPS) and all related payroll taxes.
- Implement new group accounting policies and processes, including the chart of accounts, the monthly closing calendar, documentation standards, and internal control procedures.
- Act as the local lead in the rollout of the ERP system (Odoo or equivalent), including the integration of electronic invoicing functionalities.
- Ensure timely monthly closings and prepare reports for headquarters; support group consolidation efforts and perform budget-to-actual variance analysis.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, manage payment workflows, and enforce strict documentation and approval disciplines.
- Support both external financial audits and tax inspections.
- Coordinate with local advisors, external auditors, and the group finance team based in Dubai.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience in Côte d’Ivoire, including previous roles as a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant with full ownership of a legal entity’s books.
- Strong command of SYSCOHADA Révisé and Ivorian tax legislation (VAT, corporate income tax, payroll taxes, and FNE electronic invoicing).
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing, including CNPS contributions and compliance with local labor law.
- Proven experience with ERP systems (Odoo, Sage, SAP, or similar); prior involvement in implementing or transitioning to a new accounting system is a strong plus.
- Comfortable reporting to an international headquarters—able to meet strict deadlines, prepare reports in English, and communicate in a clear, structured manner.
- Fluent in both French and English (mandatory).
- Degree in Accounting or Finance (DESCOGEF, DSCG, or an equivalent qualification is a plus).
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently within a fast-growing startup environment.
