Job Summary: A Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems, fixtures, and equipment used for water distribution, drainage, and waste disposal in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems
- Inspect and test plumbing systems for leaks, blockages, and other issues
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing systems
- Connect plumbing systems to water supply, drainage, and gas lines
- Install and maintain water heaters, pumps, and other plumbing appliances
- Comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems efficiently
- Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and clients
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training in plumbing
- Valid plumbing license (as required by local regulations)
- Proven experience as a plumber or plumber’s assistant
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
