Role overview

The Manager – Cross-Border CEMEA (Contractor) will play a key role in supporting the Cross-Border (XB) CEMEA team in implementing strategic initiatives and managing business-as-usual activities. The role will involve close collaboration with merchants, vendors, internal Visa functions, and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless delivery of initiatives that enhance Visa cardholder experiences and drive cross-border business growth.

This is a client-facing, execution-focused role that requires strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

Merchant & vendor management (core focus):

  • Partner identification & engagement – Proactively identify and engage with key merchants and vendors to support cross-border growth initiatives, ensuring alignment with Visa’s strategic priorities.
  • Commercial negotiations – Lead negotiations to secure favorable commercial and contractual terms, balancing merchant needs with Visa’s business objectives.
  • Contracting & compliance – Oversee the contract lifecycle, ensuring all Visa sourcing, procurement, and compliance processes are followed accurately and efficiently from initiation to execution. This is the single most important area of responsibility, defining her/his success in this role.

Other strategic & operational responsibilities:

  • Reporting & insights – Prepare internal management reports, presentations, ad-hoc write-ups, and status updates for Visa leadership.
  • Cardholder experience enhancement – Collaborate with merchants to design and implement optimal UX/UI journeys, ensuring proper integration into Visa direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels.
  • Performance measurement – Develop methodologies to evaluate merchant offer performance, including analysis of merchant-provided engagement data and Visa internal metrics to assess contribution to incremental transaction volumes and growth.
  • Content development – Prepare materials and content related to merchant deals for Visa D2C channels (regional mobile apps, microsites, product platforms), working closely with the Solutions team to ensure correct formats and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or Management.
  • Proven experience in negotiations and contract management.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and procurement systems.
  • Strong understanding or experience in designing UX/UI and consumer journeys.
  • Languages: Advanced English, Arabic or Russian might be beneficial.
