Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with daily food preparation — washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients as per the assigned kitchen section.
- Work within the assigned kitchen section (e.g., tandoor, grill, curry, prep, sweets, or BBQ) as designated by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, utensils, and storage areas at all times.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools promptly to keep service moving without delays.
- Receive, check, and properly store incoming deliveries and stock under chef supervision.
- Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly labeled, and rotated following FIFO (first in, first out) principles.
- Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain bins and waste areas in a hygienic condition.
- Set up and break down kitchen stations before and after service.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
- Support the assigned section efficiently during peak hours, working quickly and accurately under the direction of the section chef.
- Report any equipment issues, low stock, or safety concerns to the kitchen supervisor immediately.
- Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards in line with kitchen safety requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen, in any section.
- Ability to work consistently within the assigned kitchen section, developing depth and speed in that specific area.
- Physically able to stand for long hours, lift moderate loads, and work in a fast-paced, hot kitchen environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Punctual, hardworking, and able to follow instructions from chefs and supervisors quickly and accurately.
- Comfortable working as part of a team in a high-pressure environment, especially during peak service hours.
- Flexible to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Pay: AED1,200.00 – AED1,400.00 per hour
