Job Description
Efficient preparation of dishes and meals
Ensure the smooth and consistent operation of food production
Maintain accuracy in recipes, cost control, ordering, and stock management
Adhere strictly to purchasing procedures
Lead by example on all hygiene standards
Regularly review guest comments to drive improvements in VOG
Coordinate between Food and Beverage departments and other hotel departments to enhance guest experience
Exceed customer expectations by promoting high levels of service
Be present in the kitchen during service hours
Recruit, induct, and train a culinary team capable of exceeding guest expectations
Ensure harmonious teamwork in the kitchen to produce quality foods timely
Support the culinary and stewarding teams, fostering a collaborativeleadership style and holding regular team meetings
Drive continuous service and system improvements, maintaining an entrepreneurial approach
Develop strategies for cross-marketing to increase profits
Utilize performance reviews to identify and develop talent for growth
Follow guidelines in the Colleague Handbook
Set an example in personal hygiene and cleanliness both on and off duty
Guide and train junior colleagues daily to maintain motivation and productivity
Acquire culinary knowledge and skills to grow into a Chef de Cuisine role
Qualifications
Relevant culinary school or college diploma preferred
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a managerial culinary role, preferably in a similar operation
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and procurement modules
Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all employee levels
Service-oriented with keen attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team
Good presentation and influencing skills
Multicultural awareness and ability to work with diverse cultures
Flexibility and adaptability to change
Ability to work independently with initiative in a dynamic environment
Self-motivated and energetic
