Electrical Engineer – Power Systems (MV/LV) Jobs in الرياض at Malek Alriyadeh Company LTD.
1. JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join our project execution team. This role requires a practical, hands-on approach to the installation, testing, and commissioning of MV/LV electrical equipment, combined with the ability to perform power system studies and relay coordination using ETAP. The position offers opportunities to work across both field execution and design/study disciplines, and is open to candidates with the right technical aptitude and willingness to grow.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Testing, Commissioning & Maintenance (Field):
- Perform Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of MV and LV electrical substations.
- Carry out maintenance, repair, and commissioning activities for Power Transformers, LV/MV Switchgears, Control Panels, and Protection Panels.
- Conduct power cable installation and diagnostic testing (Fault Location, VLF, Tan Delta).
- Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on all types of electrical equipment.
B. Protection & Power System Studies (Office/Design):
- Assist in or perform Power System Studies using ETAP (or equivalent software), including:
- Short Circuit Analysis.
- Load Flow Analysis.
- Relay Coordination and Selective Curves development.
- Arc Flash Analysis (preferred).
- Support the development and validation of relay settings for relays (Siemens, ABB, GE, SEL).
- Participate in the implementation and modification of protection schemes.
- Assist in analyzing power system disturbances and troubleshooting faults using both field data and simulation tools.
C. Site & Project Execution:
- Readiness to travel to different project sites within the Kingdom as required.
- Ensure technical compliance with approved designs and international standards (IEC/IEEE).
3. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of overall electrical engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Testing & Commissioning of MV/LV substations or power systems.
- Exposure to or foundational experience in Power System Studies using ETAP (academic projects, internships, or professional work). Candidates with stronger study experience will be preferred.
