Job Summary
A leading real estate development company requires a Chief Consultancy Director for its projects in Iraq. This senior leadership role is responsible for the governance, selection, performance management, and coordination of all external consultants (design, engineering, planning, and project management).
The primary mandate is to ensure consultant outputs align with strategic commercial objectives while spearheading the establishment of an Internal Consultancy Bureau to reduce external dependency and institutionalize best practices. The role serves as a key strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Management on technical risks and development decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement consultancy governance frameworks, policies, and panels.
- Lead the procurement, evaluation, and appointment of consultants.
- Monitor consultant KPIs, deliverables, and contract compliance.
- Oversee design reviews, master plans, and value engineering initiatives.
- Drive the strategy, structure, and competency framework for the Internal Consultancy Bureau.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination between consultants and internal departments.
- Manage consultancy-related risks, scope changes, and contractual disputes.
Mandatory Requirements (Strictly Enforced)
- Same Position: Must have previously held the exact same position (Director/Chief of Consultancy) or an equivalent senior leadership role managing a large portfolio of consultants.
- GCC/Middle East Experience: Significant experience working in the GCC region or the Middle East on large-scale mega-developments is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 8 years directly managing consultants on complex, large-scale developments (mixed-use, residential, or master-planned communities).
