Key Responsibilities

  • Welding Inspection: Perform visual inspection of welds before, during, and after welding operations (fit-up, root pass, and final cosmetic appearance) according to the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Material Verification: Verify base materials, welding consumables, and filler wires against project Material Test Reports (MTRS) and ensure proper storage and handling of low-hydrogen electrodes.

  • Welder Qualification: Witness and monitor Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) tests and maintain an up-to-date Welder Log, tracking individual rejection rates.
  • NDT Coordination: Coordinate, witness, and review Non-Destructive Testing activities, including Radiographic Testing (RT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • Defect Analysis & Documentation: Identify welding defects, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), determine root causes of weld failures, and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented. Maintain clear, comprehensive QA/QC inspection records and daily weld reports.
