Position: Waiter / Waitress
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Supervisor
Job Location: Al Ain
Job Summary
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service by welcoming guests, taking and serving food and beverage orders, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and ensuring a positive dining experience for all customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus and provide information about food and beverage items.
- Take customer orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
- Communicate customer orders clearly to the kitchen and beverage team.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Check customer satisfaction during the meal and respond to requests or concerns.
- Ensure correct presentation and portioning of food before serving.
- Clear and clean tables promptly after customers leave.
- Set tables with the required cutlery, crockery, glassware, napkins, and other items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, service stations, and assigned work areas.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Handle customer complaints politely and escalate serious issues to the supervisor or manager.
- Process bills and payments accurately when assigned.
- Coordinate with kitchen, cashier, delivery, and other operational teams to ensure smooth service.
- Follow the company’s procedures for discounts, complimentary items, voids, and cancellations.
- Monitor stock levels of service items and inform the supervisor when replenishment is required.
- Maintain professional grooming, uniform, and personal hygiene standards at all times.
- Follow company policies, work schedules, and management instructions.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and preparation of the restaurant.
- Support other team members during busy periods.
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by management.
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Maintain a polite, respectful, and positive attitude toward customers.
- Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate assistance.
- Ensure orders are served accurately and without unnecessary delays.
- Maintain professional communication with customers and colleagues.
- Protect customer privacy and avoid discussing internal company matters with customers.
Hygiene & Food Safety
- Follow UAE food safety and municipality requirements applicable to the workplace.
- Maintain proper personal hygiene and clean uniform.
- Wash and sanitize hands regularly and follow proper food-handling practices.
- Ensure tables, service equipment, and dining areas remain clean and hygienic.
- Immediately report any food safety, hygiene, pest, contamination, or safety concern to the supervisor.
Skills & Competencies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Good teamwork and coordination skills.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Ability to accurately handle customer orders.
- Basic POS and cash-handling knowledge is an advantage.

- Good time-management and organizational skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant, café, hotel, or food-service business is preferred.
- Freshers may be considered depending on the company’s requirements.
- Basic English communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, public holidays, and during peak business hours.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a busy and physically demanding restaurant environment.
- Must comply with company uniform, grooming, attendance, and operational policies.

Pay: AED1,800.00 – AED2,200.00 per month
