TELECOM TECHNICIAN – FIBER OPTIC

Work Schedule: 5 Days per Week
Salary & Benefits:
- Option 1: QAR 2,000–2,250 + Accommodation + Transportation + Other Benefits
- Option 2: Full Package QAR 3,000–3,250 + Transportation (Accommodation not included)
Qualification
- Completed School Diploma.
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of extensive hands-on experience in Fiber Optic Networks, including:
- Installation
- Fiber Splicing
- Testing
- Troubleshooting
- Extensive experience using fiber optic tools and testing equipment, such as:
- Fusion Splicing Machine
- OTDR
- Laser Source
- Optical Power Meter
- Completed multiple training programs related to Fiber Optic Installation, Splicing, and Testing.
- Experience working with Ooredoo, QNBN, or Vodafone Fiber Optic Infrastructure is highly preferred.
- Must have full-time experience working as a field/site-based Fiber Optic Technician.
- Valid Qatar Driving License is mandatory.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Physically capable of working on-site and handling field-based technical activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fiber optic cable installation, termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting at various sites.
- Carry out fusion splicing and ensure proper quality of fiber joints.
- Operate and maintain fiber optic testing equipment, including OTDR, power meter, and laser source.
- Conduct fiber testing and analyze results to identify attenuation, losses, breaks, and other faults.
- Troubleshoot fiber optic network issues and perform necessary corrective works.
- Support installation and maintenance of Ooredoo, QNBN, Vodafone, and other fiber optic infrastructure where required.
- Read and follow fiber optic network drawings, layouts, and technical instructions.
- Maintain accurate splicing records, test reports, fault reports, and site documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other field technicians to complete assigned work.
- Follow approved HSE procedures, technical standards, and site safety requirements.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and restoration works when required.
Pay: QAR3,000.00 – QAR3,250.00 per month
