The job description for the Site Engineer role involves overseeing construction projects and ensuring they are executed according to approved plans and specifications. Main Responsibilities:
- Daily supervision of all construction activities on site.
- Monitoring the execution of works according to approved plans and specifications.
- Coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Reviewing engineering drawings and resolving technical issues that may arise during execution.
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on work progress.
- Monitoring site material and labor requirements to ensure availability.
- Ensuring quality control of executed works and compliance with specifications.
- Conducting measurements and quantity take-offs.
- Tracking project schedules and reporting any delays or obstacles.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on site.
- Participating in regular meetings and providing updates to project managers.
- Following up on observations from consultants and regulatory bodies until closure.
- Assisting in the preparation of project summaries and completion reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and project management.
- Previous experience in projects within the Sultanate of Oman is preferred.
- Membership in the engineering association (if applicable).
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of construction methods and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and project management software is an advantage.
