Manages the loading of crude oil for tanker shipments. Oversees the logistics of the shipment, ensures that the operation is executed safely and efficiently, and coordinates with supervisors, operators, tanker crew, and port authorities.
Main Responsibilities
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Follows all relevant section policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Day-to-day Operations
- Follows the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the Crude Section to ensure continuity of work.
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates the shipment of crude oil and coordinates the necessary documentation, permits, and schedules.
- Ensures compliance with regulations governing the transportation of crude oil, such as safety regulations, environmental regulations, and customs requirements.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the crude shipments, including loading and unloading, monitoring quantities and quality, and metering to avoid ship-shore differences.
- Manage risks associated with shipments, such as ensuring proper certification, weather conditions, and others.
- Communicate with stakeholders involved in the shipment, such as terminal operators, vessel operators, customers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of the cargo.
- Ensures accurate record keeping of crude oil transfers, schedules, shipping documents, and manifests.
Reporting
- Prepares timely and accurate reports for section in order to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.
Safety, Health & Environment
- Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Additional Responsibilities
- The post holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the post.
Communications & Working Relationships
- Internal: Mooring Master, Shipping Agents, Petroleum Inspectors, Production Department, others as required.
- External: Tankers, Government entities, others as requested.
