We are looking for a Senior Trade Finance Officer to manage the financial framework that makes this massive movement of resources possible.
Based in Ar Rayyan, you will be the tactical lead for our trade instruments. You are the expert who ensures that while our resources cross oceans, our financial risk is minimized and our liquidity is maximized.
Your Mission
- Instrument Specialist: Manage the end-to-end issuance, advising, and amendment of Letters of Credit (LCs), including Standby LCs, Back-to-Back, and Transferable structures.
- Guarantee Custodian: Oversee the issuance of Bank Guarantees, Performance Bonds, and Bid Bonds, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of international resource contracts.
- Discrepancy Control: Perform rigorous document checks for export/import shipments, ensuring all bills of lading, certificates of origin, and invoices are 100% compliant with LC terms to prevent payment delays.
- Bank Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison for our banking partners in Qatar and abroad, monitoring credit line availability and negotiating trade finance commissions.
- Compliance & ICC Standards: Ensure all trade operations strictly follow UCP 600, ISBP, and URC 522 guidelines, alongside local Qatari AML and KYC regulations.
- Risk Analysis: Evaluate the financial terms of sales and purchase agreements to identify potential risks and recommend secure payment methods.
- Financial Reporting: Maintain an accurate tracker of all outstanding trade liabilities and provide regular reports on bank facility utilization and trade-related costs.
The Profile We’re Looking For
- Experience: 7+ years in Trade Finance, ideally within the Commodities, Oil & Gas, or Mining/Resources sectors.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Credentials: CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) or CITF certification is highly preferred and will be prioritized.
- Technical Savvy: Expert knowledge of SWIFT (MT700, MT760, etc.) and proficiency in high-tier ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of Incoterms 2020 and the logistical nuances of bulk commodity shipping.
- Communication: Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong advantage for local regulatory and banking coordination.
