The project:

This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

Mace is one of the delivery partners requiring high-calibre and experienced professionals to lead integrated teams throughout each phase of the project.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) assets across the programme, providing technical leadership throughout design, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Reviewing and assuring wastewater treatment process designs, including biological treatment, tertiary treatment, sludge handling, odour control and TSE reuse systems.
• Leading technical reviews of consultant and contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, regulations, and international best practices.
• Providing expert advice on treatment technologies such as MBR, MBBR, SBR, activated sludge, and advanced wastewater reuse solutions.
• Supporting the utilities and infrastructure teams in managing technical risks, resolving complex engineering issues, and developing mitigation strategies.
• Overseeing construction quality, testing, commissioning, and performance validation activities to ensure facilities achieve operational and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinating with designers, contractors, operators, utility providers, and client stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of WWTP assets within the wider development.
• Reviewing technical submittals, method statements, RFIs, commissioning plans, and handover documentation.
• Supporting operational readiness activities, including O&M strategy development, operator training requirements, and asset handover to end-users.
• You’ll need to have:

  Degree qualified in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Water Engineering, with significant experience delivering wastewater and water infrastructure projects.

• Proven expertise in the design, delivery, commissioning, and operation of large-scale WWTP facilities.
• Strong technical knowledge of wastewater treatment, TSE reuse, sludge management, and utility integration.
• Experience within PMC, Client, Delivery Partner, or Programme Management environments on major infrastructure programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across complex project teams.
• Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
