Location: NAFFCO Qatar
Senior QA/QC Engineer responsible for quality control, inspection, testing, and compliance activities related to fire pumps, jockey pumps, diesel/electric driven fire pump units, and fire pump controllers. The role includes ensuring compliance with UL & NFPA standards, handling UL audits, supervising testing activities, and maintaining high manufacturing and product quality standards within the factory.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QA/QC activities for fabrication, assembly, wiring, inspection, and testing of fire pumps and fire pump controllers.
- Ensure compliance with UL and NFPA
- Supervise inspection and testing of: Diesel fire pump, Electric fire pump units, Jockey pumps and Fire pump controllers
- Conduct and witness: Hydrostatic tests, Performance tests, Functional tests, FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests)
- Verify pump performance curves, pressure readings, flow test results, and test reports.
- Ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with approved UL procedures and quality requirements
- Handle UL follow-up services, factory inspections, and external audits
- Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, calibration records, and traceability records
- Identify non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
- Excellent experience as QA/QC Engineer for fire pumps and fire pump controllers
- Minimum 7–10 years of QA/QC experience in fire pump manufacturing and testing.
- Strong experience with: Fire pumps, Diesel engines and Fire pump controllers
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 20 and UL standards
- Proven experience handling UL audits and compliance inspections.
- Experience in manufacturing environments for UL listed products is mandatory.
- Ability to read and interpret Technical drawings, Hydraulic data, Electrical schematics, Wiring diagrams
