Senior Material Engineer

The Senior Material Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting Ashghal projects, working within the GEC Supervision department. This position involves managing and overseeing material engineering activities, with a focus on maintaining high standards and adhering to project requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of infrastructure projects in Qatar.

• Oversee material engineering activities for Ashghal projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Review and approve material testing and inspection plans, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor material engineering processes and provide guidance to on-site teams.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure material engineering activities are integrated into project timelines.
• Manage and mentor a team of material engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in material engineering practices.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on material engineering activities, including recommendations and findings.
• Participate in project meetings and provide expert input on material-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with Ashghal requirements and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

• Bachelor’s degree in Material Engineering or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in material engineering, with a strong background in infrastructure projects.
• Professional registration or certification in Material Engineering is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in managing and overseeing material engineering activities for large-scale projects.
• Excellent knowledge of material testing and inspection techniques, and industry standards.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop a team.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site as required by project needs.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Must hold a valid MMUP/UPDA registration (Engineer Classification) in Qatar.
