Position Overview
The Senior Internal Auditor will lead and execute internal audit engagements across financial, operational, and compliance areas. This role is critical in strengthening internal controls, improving risk management processes, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead internal audit assignments from planning through reporting
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management systems
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend practical corrective actions
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings to senior management
- Oversee audit fieldwork and review work performed by junior auditors
- Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow-ups
- Conduct risk assessments to support annual audit planning
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations
- Collaborate with departments to improve operational efficiency and controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in internal auditing or related assurance roles
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, internal control frameworks, and risk management
- Professional certification (CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and professional skepticism
- Proficiency in audit tools and MS Office applications
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
