Role Purpose
The Senior HR Executive manages daily HR operations, specifically focusing on scaling and
supporting our frontline retail sales workforce. This role utilizes Roots HCM to oversee shift
attendance, and regional labor compliance to keep our stores optimally staffed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Retail Recruitment & Onboarding
- Sourcing Maintenance: Execute and maintain the company’s current sourcing strategies
in hiring new resources
- Onboarding Optimization: Standardize and deploy digitized onboarding workflows
through Roots HCM to streamline the new-hire journey.
- Seasonal Staffing: Monitor real-time headcount data to proactively scale up the frontline
sales workforce before peak shopping seasons.
2. Shift Rota, Performance & Commission Tracking
- Attendance Tracking: Monitor shift compliance, roster configurations, and overtime via
the Roots Attendance module (GPS and QR-code clock-ins).
- Incentive Calculation: Partner with retail operations to track sales metrics and input
commission/bonus data into monthly payroll processing.
- Performance Evaluations: Coordinate store-level KPI assessments, appraisals, and
employee reviews directly through the mobile platform.
3. Retail Employee Relations & Compliance
- Digital Meetups: Coordinate regular virtual syncs and digital touchpoints to resolve
frontline employee grievances, shift conflicts, and swap requests.
- Labor Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with retail labor laws, shift rotation
maximums, and mandatory rest periods.
- Offboarding & Analytics: Handle high-turnover exit processes, manage final payroll
settlements, and track attrition trends.
- Onboarding: Ensure new hires are set up well in the workforce.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in retail or
high-volume shift environments.
- Software Competency: Direct experience using Roots HCM (specifically for Leave,
Attendance, and Payroll modules)
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of retail employment standards, multi-
location payroll processing, and commission structures.
