Job Overview
We are urgently seeking an experienced Scaffolding Design Engineer to join a long-term Oil & Gas project in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in scaffolding design, temporary works, structural stability, load calculations, and complex industrial scaffolding applications.
Candidates with strong GCC and Oil & Gas/EPC experience will be preferred.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 12+ years of total professional experience
- Minimum 8+ years of GCC experience in a similar Scaffolding Design Engineer role
- Strong Oil & Gas and EPC project experience is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of:
- Scaffolding standards and regulations
- Load calculations
- Structural stability
- Temporary works design
- Proficiency in preparing:
- Scaffolding design drawings
- Structural calculations
- Material take-offs
- Method statements
- Experience designing complex scaffolding structures for:
- Maintenance projects
- Shutdown/Turnaround projects
- Construction projects
- Heavy industrial applications
- Previous Client Approval as a Scaffolding Design Engineer is highly preferred
- Strong technical documentation and engineering coordination skills
- Consultancy/EPC experience is mandatory
- Must be currently available in Qatar
- Freelance visa holders preferred
- Immediate joiners preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed scaffolding designs and engineering calculations for Oil & Gas and EPC projects
- Perform load calculations and structural stability assessments for temporary scaffolding structures
- Develop scaffolding drawings, layouts, and technical details
- Prepare material take-offs and method statements
- Design scaffolding systems for maintenance, shutdowns, construction, and heavy industrial activities
- Review existing scaffolding designs and recommend technically appropriate solutions
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, HSE, and project teams
- Ensure scaffolding designs comply with applicable standards, specifications, and client requirements
- Support technical submissions and client approval processes
- Provide engineering support during project execution
