Job Summary:
The Export Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s export operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across international borders. The role includes market research, identifying export opportunities, handling logistics, managing customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with all relevant export laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Export Operations:
Manage and coordinate all export activities, including shipping, documentation, and customs clearance.
Handle the preparation of export documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, and export declarations.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including customs laws and export controls.
Market Development:
Identify and analyze potential markets for export, researching market trends, consumer demands, and competition.
Develop and implement strategies to expand the company’s presence in international markets.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with international clients, distributors, and partners.
Sales & Customer Relationship Management:
Negotiate contracts and agreements with international clients, ensuring terms are favorable to the company.
Respond to inquiries from international customers regarding product availability, pricing, shipping terms, etc.
Work closely with the sales team to achieve export sales targets and provide support as needed.
Logistics & Supply Chain:
Coordinate the logistics of the export process, working with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs brokers.
Monitor inventory levels and order fulfillment to ensure timely delivery to international markets.
Ensure that goods are packaged, labeled, and shipped according to international standards and regulations.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with international trade laws, tariffs, and regulations, including those of the importing country.
Monitor and resolve any export-related issues such as delays, damage, or compliance failures.
Stay updated on changes in trade laws, tariffs, and international market conditions.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare reports on export activities, performance metrics, and market analysis for senior management.
Track and analyze the performance of exports, recommending improvements and changes as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
years of experience in export management, international trade, or logistics.
Strong knowledge of export procedures, documentation, and international trade regulations.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Fluency in foreign languages (depending on the region) is a plus.
