Job Objective:
To manage and monitor all aspects of quantity surveying for projects, ensuring accuracy in costs and adherence to budgets and contracts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for all items of construction, architectural, and MEP works.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure quantity compliance with the scope of work.
- Prepare and review estimates and costs for projects before and during execution.
- Review price proposals from contractors and suppliers and conduct technical and financial comparisons.
- Review and approve monthly progress payments for contractors and suppliers based on actual work performed.
- Monitor actual project costs and compare them with the approved budget and prepare periodic reports.
- Prepare and review Variation Orders and Claims.
- Monitor additional and deleted works and ensure proper documentation and approval before execution.
- Measure work performed on-site in coordination with the project team and consultant.
- Review prices and analyze work items to ensure fairness of submitted prices.
- Prepare periodic reports on cost status and financial commitments for projects.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, accounting, and contractors to ensure accuracy of financial data and quantities.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, progress payments, Variation Orders, quantities, and costs.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets, cash flows, and financial forecasts for projects.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s internal procedures, contracts, and specifications.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience in Quantity Surveying and Cost Control, preferably in villa and real estate projects.
- Good experience in reading drawings, specifications, and quantity take-offs.
- Good knowledge of contracts, progress payments, Variation Orders, and Claims.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying and project management software.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or MS Project is preferred.
- Strong skills in financial analysis, negotiation, and communication.
- Ability to work on-site and coordinate with contractors and consultants.
