Job Purpose
The QA/QC Engineer – Façade is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control procedures for façade works throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that façade materials, fabrication, installation, testing, and finishing works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the project Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan for façade works.
- Inspect façade installation activities, including curtain wall, glazing, aluminium cladding, metal panels, louvers, doors, windows, and associated systems.
- Review approved shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and technical specifications.
- Conduct inspections of incoming façade materials and verify compliance with approved material submittals and specifications.
- Monitor façade fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and quality standards.
- Prepare and conduct Inspection Requests (IR/WIR) and coordinate inspections with consultants and clients.
- Ensure all façade works are executed according to approved method statements and project requirements.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, levels, tolerances, fixing systems, joints, sealants, gaskets, brackets, anchors, and interfaces.
- Inspect sealant application, including surface preparation, joint dimensions, adhesion, tooling, and curing requirements.
- Monitor waterproofing and weatherproofing details at façade interfaces.
- Coordinate façade performance testing, including water penetration, air infiltration, structural performance, thermal, acoustic, and other project-specific tests.
- Review test reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented where required.
- Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), observations, and quality issues.
- Coordinate with site engineers, façade subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project management to resolve quality issues.
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare quality inspection reports.
- Maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, material approvals, test certificates, calibration certificates, and quality documentation.
- Ensure traceability of façade materials and installation records.
- Monitor corrective and preventive actions and verify their effective closure.
- Participate in mock-up inspections and ensure approved façade mock-ups are replicated during production.
- Assist with snagging, de-snagging, and final quality inspections prior to project handover.
- Support preparation of As-Built documentation and final quality dossiers.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, project specifications, applicable international standards, and HSE requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant QA/QC certification is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience, preferably with a façade contractor or major construction company.
- Proven experience in façade systems, curtain wall, glazing, aluminium cladding, ACP/metal panels, louvers, and waterproofing.
- Experience working on high-rise buildings, commercial buildings, airports, hotels, or large-scale developments is an advantage.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of façade installation and construction processes.
- Good understanding of curtain wall and cladding systems.
- Knowledge of sealants, gaskets, membranes, insulation, anchors, brackets, and fixing systems.
- Familiarity with façade testing and performance requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, façade, and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of inspection and testing procedures.
- Understanding of QA/QC documentation, ITPs, method statements, NCRs, MIRs, WIRs, and inspection procedures.
- Familiarity with relevant international standards such as ASTM, BS, EN, AAMA, CWCT, and project-specific specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering/document-control systems.

Pay: AED5,000.00 – AED7,000.00 per month
