Job Summary
The Fabrication Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing all workshop production activities to ensure structural steel fabrication projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role oversees manpower, machinery, production planning, quality coordination, and project execution while maximizing productivity and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Manage day-to-day steel fabrication workshop operations.
- Plan and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Monitor fabrication progress and ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
- Optimize production capacity and workshop efficiency.
- Ensure smooth workflow across all fabrication processes.
Workshop Operations
- Supervise all fabrication activities, including:
- CNC Cutting
- Beam Line Processing
- Drilling
- Plate Cutting
- Fit-Up
- Welding
- Grinding
- Assembly
- Blasting
- Painting
- Packing
- Dispatch
- Ensure proper utilization of machines, equipment, and manpower.
Production Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with Planning Engineers on production schedules.
- Review fabrication drawings, BOM, and material availability.
- Prioritize jobs based on project requirements.
- Coordinate with Procurement, QA/QC, Engineering, Stores, Logistics, and Site Teams.
- Resolve production bottlenecks and resource constraints.
Quality Control
- Ensure fabrication complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC.
- Ensure NCRs and corrective actions are closed promptly.
- Minimize rework through effective production control.
Manpower Management
- Lead Production Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, and workshop staff.
- Allocate manpower based on workload and priorities.
- Monitor productivity and performance.
- Conduct toolbox talks and production meetings.
Cost & Productivity
- Improve workshop productivity and efficiency.
- Reduce material wastage and production downtime.
- Monitor fabrication costs and resource utilization.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safe working practices.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the workshop.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and operated safely.
Reporting
- Prepare Daily Production Reports (DPR).
- Submit weekly and monthly production reports.
- Track KPIs and production performance.
- Report planned vs. actual progress and recommend recovery plans where required.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in structural steel fabrication.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a Production Manager or Workshop Manager role.
- GCC/UAE experience preferred.
- Experience in Steel Structure, PEB, Oil & Gas, EPC, or Heavy Fabrication industries.
