Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Costing & Estimation Engineer with strong experience in metal works fabrication to lead accurate project pricing, cost control, and tender preparation.
The role is mission-critical to ensure:

Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Tendering
* Analyze RFQs, drawings, BOQs, and specifications
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for:
* Steel works (doors, handrails, structures, access systems)
* Aluminum works (windows, curtain walls, partitions)
* Cable trays, enclosures, racks (MEP-related products)
* Conduct **material take-offs (MTO)** with high accuracy
* Prepare and submit **commercial & technical quotations**

2. Costing & Pricing Control**
* Develop detailed cost breakdown including:
* Raw materials (MS, SS, Aluminum profiles, accessories)
* Labor (fabrication, welding, assembly)
* Finishing (powder coating, galvanizing, polishing)
* Overheads & logistics
* Ensure all pricing:
* Reflects actual market availability
* Matches production capability
* Includes contingency and margin protection

3. Technical Validation (CRITICAL FOR NDIC)**
* Verify that all proposed materials:
* Exist in the market
* Are available locally or importable within timeline
* Prevent **fatal mistakes** such as:
* Quoting non-available profiles
* Wrong thickness/specifications
* Unrealistic commitments to clients

4. Coordination
* Work closely with:
* Sales team (for fast quotations)
* Production team (for manufacturability validation)
* Procurement (for real supplier pricing)

5. Supplier & Market Analysis
* Source and compare supplier quotations
* Maintain updated database for:
* Steel prices
* Aluminum systems
* Accessories (hinges, locks, gaskets, etc.)

6. Value Engineering
* Propose cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality
* Suggest:
* Alternative materials
* Modular solutions
* Easier fabrication methods

7. Documentation & Systems
* Maintain costing sheets (with Odoo Software)
* Track:
* Estimated vs actual cost
* Profit margins per project
* Build NDIC internal **costing standards library**

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in:
* Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Civil Engineering
* Experience: **3–5 years minimum**
* Strong background in:
* Steel fabrication ( Solid works, TEKLA, SAP, ETAB )
* Aluminum systems
* Metal works projects

Technical Skills
* Advanced Excel (mandatory)
* Experience in ERP systems (preferably Odoo)
* Ability to read:
* Shop drawings
* Structural drawings
* Architectural drawings
* Knowledge of: CNC design , Laser cutting , Bending
* Welding (MIG / TIG)
* Sheet metal processes (laser cutting, bending)
* Finishing processes

Salary & Benefits (Suggested Structure)
* Basic Salary: 5,000 – 7000 SAR (based on experience)
* Transportation / Car (optional based on role level)
