Job Title: Member of Technical Staff, Robotics

Job Summary:

Join us to help define the future of robotics data. As a Robotics Researcher, you’ll work at the forefront of R&D—shaping how embodied data is collected, structured, and used for robot learning and perception.

What You’ll Do:

1. Define and standardize robotics data formats, schemas, and benchmarks.
2. Design innovative data collection methods (human demos, teleop, sensors).
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on model training data.
4. Evaluate datasets for diversity, scalability, and impact.
5. Prototype experiments and tools for efficient data gathering.
6. Stay updated on leading labs (Tesla, Figure, 1X) and integrate best practices.

What You Bring:

1. 2–5+ years in robotics R&D, data engineering, or applied research.
2. Strong grasp of robotics data pipelines and multimodal schemas (RGB-D, IMU, pose, language).
3. Experience in robot perception, control, or data-driven learning.
4. Excellent communicator with cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
5. Degree in Robotics, CS, EE, or related field.

Bonus Points:

1. Experience at top robotics or AI companies.
2. Familiarity with embodied AI datasets or imitation learning pipelines.
3. Hands-on sensor prototyping experience.

Compensation & Benefits Notice

The national pay range for this full-time position is base salary of $240,000 –$320,000 USD. All employees are eligible for equity compensation, and employees may also receive performance-based bonuses, dependent on role and subject to company policies. micro1 provides a comprehensive benefits package, including up to 100% reimbursement for health-insurance premiums, paid time off, a 401(K) plan with a company match, and additional benefits designed to support a high-performing, remote-first workforce.
