Mechanical Engineer Jobs in Abu Dhabi at AMS MARITIME LLC
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in maintaining, improving, and overseeing the mechanical systems of ships. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, along with expertise in maritime vessel systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Design & Maintenance:
o Design, analyze, and oversee the installation of mechanical systems on the ship, including propulsion, hydraulic, and auxiliary systems. Expert with Caterpillar software for offshore ships.
o Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.
o Ensure that all mechanical systems operate within safety and performance standards.
2. Technical Support:
o Provide technical support to the ship’s crew for mechanical-related issues.
o Assist in the inspection and troubleshooting of mechanical systems during dry docking or scheduled maintenance.
o Coordinate with other engineering departments to address and resolve mechanical system malfunctions.
3. Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain comprehensive records of all mechanical maintenance work performed, parts replaced, and operational anomalies.
o Prepare reports on mechanical system performance and condition, including recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably within the maritime industry.
Strong knowledge of ship mechanical systems, including engines, propulsion, hydraulics, and pumps.
Proficiency in Caterpillar software and engineering analysis tools.
Ability to work in harsh conditions and adapt to life onboard ships.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work in confined spaces, challenging weather conditions, and around heavy machinery.
