Instructors at Qatar Technical Institute (QTI) form the backbone of the

training ecosystem and play a critical role in delivering high-quality

vocational, technical and defence training in accordance with the Ministry of

Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) standards. The Math and Physics instructor

works in the General Studies department, which forms the first year of a

two-year diploma.

The primary role of the Math and Physics Instructor is to deliver the Math

and Physics curriculum to military students in accordance with all policies and

processes at the QTI. The role involves teaching and supporting the creation,

maintenance, and delivery of Math and Physics subjects, to specific standards

within the General Studies department.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to plan and implement engaging

lessons based on MoEHE curriculum. They will create an inclusive learning

environment that supports student success while maintaining academic rigor and

adherence to institutional standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate

strong communication skills, a commitment to student-centered learning, and the

ability to inspire interest and achievement in the different areas within the Math

and Physics department.

The role involves engaging in regular feedback meetings with Senior

Instructors in support of continuous improvement of the instructor’s classes

and the department as a whole. Taking ownership of their classes and leading by

example, the instructor must demonstrate professionalism and flexibility. The

instructor must also demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional

development and continuous improvement initiatives within the QTI.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in

responding to changing priorities, student needs, and organisational

requirements. They will work collaboratively with colleagues and military

stakeholders to support student achievement and departmental objectives,

fostering positive and productive working relationships across the

organisation. The instructor will be agile to meet evolving educational and

organizational requirements, embracing change and maintaining a proactive

approach to ensure the continued success of students, the department, and the

QTI.

1. Training

Delivery:

  • Teach Math and Physics subjects

    within the General Studies programme.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging

    lessons that meet curriculum requirements and address diverse student needs.
  • Apply effective classroom

    management strategies and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Provide academic and pastoral

    support to students throughout their learning journey.

  • Assess student learning using

    formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Provide timely and constructive

    oral and written feedback.
  • Monitor, record, and report student

    progress, attendance, and behaviour in accordance with QTI requirements.

3. Curriculum

Development and Quality Improvement

  • Contribute to the development,

    review, and enhancement of curriculum materials and teaching resources.
  • Participate in lesson observations,

    feedback processes, and professional development activities.
  • Support departmental continuous

    improvement initiatives and share best practice with colleagues.

4. Administration

and Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate student and

    administrative records within required timescales.
  • Use approved teaching and

    administrative technologies effectively.
  • Provide teaching cover when

    required.
  • Follow established communication

    and reporting procedures.

Requirements

Qualification/Trade

Knowledge:
Essential:
  • Holds qualified teacher

    status or a relevant education and training qualification (e.g. PGCE, B.Ed.,

    M.Ed., MA, BA, Diploma, or equivalent) in a Math or Physics subject or a related

    field.
  • Relevant experience

    teaching Math and Physics to international students in a range of contexts.
  • Demonstrable soft

    skills across a multi-disciplinary department.
  • Ability to use a range

    of teaching and administrative technologies.
  • Strong classroom

    management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to cultural

    sensitivity, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a

    military setting.
  • Teaching experience in

    the Middle East.
  • Arabic language.
  • In addition to the primary teaching specialism,

    Instructors may be required to support the delivery, development, assessment,

    verification, and administration of other subject areas, programmes, or

    training activities within the organisation as directed by the Customer, Line

    Manager, Head of Department, or Head of the Organisation. Such responsibilities

    will be allocated based on the Instructors/Lecturers qualifications,

    professional experience, industry background, demonstrated competence, and

    previous teaching or training experience. Where appropriate,

    Instructors/Lecturers may be provided with internal training, mentoring,

    professional development, or familiarisation activities to enable them to

    undertake additional teaching and training responsibilities effectively.
