Job Summary
OVO Luxury Signature is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Cutter (Women’s Fashion) to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in luxury women’s wear, evening gowns, dresses, abayas, and couture garments. The Master Cutter will be responsible for pattern development, fabric utilization, garment fitting, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship throughout the production process.
Key ResponsibilitiesPattern Making & Cutting
- Develop accurate patterns based on sketches, technical drawings, measurements, and sample garments.
- Create first patterns, production patterns, and grading when required.
- Perform fabric planning and marker making to maximize fabric utilization.
- Cut fabrics precisely according to approved patterns and production specifications.
- Ensure all garment components are accurately prepared for sewing and assembly.
Garment Development
- Work closely with designers and production teams to translate concepts into finished garments.
- Analyze garment construction and recommend improvements for fit, quality, and production efficiency.
- Participate in sample development and prototype creation.
- Conduct fittings and implement pattern adjustments based on feedback.
Quality Control
- Ensure all patterns and cut pieces meet company quality standards.
- Identify and resolve fitting, measurement, and construction issues.
- Monitor garment quality throughout sampling and production stages.
- Maintain consistency in sizing, fit, and workmanship.
Production Support
- Coordinate with tailors, production assistants, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Provide technical guidance to sewing and production teams.
- Support production planning and ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist in resolving production challenges and urgent alterations.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain pattern records, measurement charts, and production specifications.
- Develop and improve cutting and production SOPs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Master Cutter in women’s fashion manufacturing.
- Strong experience in luxury fashion, evening wear, couture, bridal wear, abayas, or high-end ready-to-wear garments.
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and fitting.
- Ability to interpret fashion sketches and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of different fabric types and their behavior during cutting and sewing.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in luxury fashion brands or couture ateliers.
- Knowledge of production workflows and garment manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with delicate and premium fabrics.
- Familiarity with pattern-making software is an advantage.
Working Conditions
