About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Construction Management – Engineering Projects to lead and manage the execution of all construction and finishing works within the projects affiliated with the program, ensuring compliance with timelines, cost, and quality. The role is responsible for general oversight of project sites, managing multiple projects in parallel, coordinating with design teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders, and ensuring the highest standards of QA/QC, HSE, execution, and handover across all project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the execution of all construction and finishing works within the projects affiliated with the program, ensuring compliance with timelines, cost, and quality.
- General oversight of project sites and follow-up ensuring the workflow aligns with approved execution plans.
- Review and approve execution plans submitted by contractors (Method Statements / Construction Plans).
- Coordinate with design teams and consultants to ensure constructability and resolve technical conflicts.
- Follow up and review work progress, analyze deviations and take necessary corrective actions.
- Supervise the performance of contractors and subcontractors and ensure their commitment to contracts and technical specifications.
- Oversee the application of health, safety, and environment standards (HSE) at project sites.
- Review and approve detailed timeline programs and recovery/acceleration plans (Recovery Plans) when needed.
- Manage execution challenges on-site and make quick technical decisions to ensure work continuity.
- Review and approve payment statements for contractors, in coordination with the commercial team.
- Manage Variations & Claims from an execution perspective, and evaluate their impact on the project.
- Coordinate with government entities and stakeholders regarding execution and approval matters.
- Lead site meetings and technical meetings with contractors and consultants.
- Oversee initial and final handover works (Snagging & Handover).
- Ensure facility readiness for operation and handover according to approved standards.
- Support the program director in making strategic decisions related to execution.
- Oversee multiple projects in parallel, ensuring efficient allocation and distribution of resources across different sites.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or architecture engineering from a recognized university.
- A master’s degree in construction management or project management is preferred.
- Holding a Project Management Institute (PMP) certification or its equivalent is preferred.
- A certification in Construction or Contract Management such as FIDIC or its equivalent is preferred.
- Certifications in Quality or Safety (ISO / NEBOSH) or their equivalent are preferred.
- Minimum 15–18 years of experience in project execution.
- At least 7 years in a leadership position (Construction Manager / Construction Director).
- Proven experience in managing large-scale internal fit-out projects.
- Proven experience in supervising Design & Build projects from an execution perspective.
- Proven experience in managing electromechanical (MEP) systems works within the execution environment.
- Prior experience in working within a PMC or as Client Representative in similar projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously (Multi-site Management).
- Proven ability to lead large teams of contractors and consultants.
