Dove Green Private School (DGPS) is seeking a dedicated and strategic leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Head of Inclusion & Pastoral – Assistant Principal for the 2025-26 academic year. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to shape inclusion, student well-being, and pastoral care across the school, ensuring that all students receive the support, guidance, and resources necessary to thrive both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will lead inclusive practices, student well-being, behaviour management, and safeguarding, working closely with staff, students, and parents to foster a positive school culture. This role requires visionary leadership, a passion for inclusion, and a commitment to empowering students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Inclusion Policy

✔ Develop and implement a whole-school Inclusion & Pastoral strategy, ensuring alignment with DGPS’s ethos and UAE regulatory requirements.

✔ Provide leadership in SEND, English as an Additional Language (EAL), Gifted & Talented (G&T), student well-being, and pastoral care.

✔ Lead the Inclusion & Pastoral Team, ensuring best practices in student support and safeguarding.

✔ Contribute to school inspections (KHDA/BSO) and oversee relevant school improvement plans.

Student Support, Well-Being & Behaviour

✔ Oversee the identification and support of students with diverse learning and pastoral needs.

✔ Monitor the effectiveness of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and well-being initiatives.

✔ Foster a proactive well-being culture, ensuring all students feel safe, valued, and empowered.

✔ Work closely with teachers and Heads of Year to embed inclusive teaching and behaviour strategies.

Pastoral Leadership & Safeguarding

✔ Lead the pastoral care framework, ensuring a strong safeguarding culture and positive behaviour systems.

✔ Develop strategies to support student resilience, well-being, and mental health.

✔ Promote a restorative approach to student behaviour, supporting staff and families.

Staff Development & Collaboration

✔ Lead training for staff on inclusive teaching, pastoral care, and safeguarding.

✔ Provide coaching and guidance for teachers on behaviour management and inclusion strategies.

✔ Work collaboratively with leaders, teachers, and external agencies.

Parental & Community Engagement

✔ Build strong parent partnerships, offering workshops on inclusion and student well-being.

✔ Act as the primary liaison with external support services for student interventions.

✔ Promote initiatives celebrating diversity and community engagement.

Who We Are Looking For
Essential:

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (PGCE or equivalent required).

✔ QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with at least five years of teaching experience, including leadership experience in Inclusion and/or Pastoral roles.

✔ Strong knowledge of SEND, EAL, behaviour management, and student well-being strategies.

✔ Experience leading school-wide inclusion and pastoral initiatives.

✔ Excellent understanding of safeguarding policies and student well-being.

Desirable:

✔ Master’s degree in Education, Inclusion, or Educational Leadership.

✔ NASENCO or NPQ SENCO qualification (or willingness to complete).

✔ Experience in middle or senior leadership with a track record of school improvement.

✔ Familiarity with UAE education regulations and KHDA requirements.
