Techpace delivers technology, cybersecurity, software, and digital transformation services to organisations in Qatar. We are hiring an experienced Lead Software Engineer to support a banking-sector client through an outsourced engagement.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role in Doha for a Lead Software Engineer with .NET development and project management experience. The selected candidate will lead software development and integration activities across cloud and on-premises banking environments.
The role involves leading technical teams, developing secure APIs and integrations, managing project delivery, coordinating with business stakeholders, and supporting production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of .NET applications, middleware, APIs, and integration services.
- Develop RESTful services using C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Web API, and WCF.
- Manage API design, publishing, versioning, access controls, rate limiting, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Lead technical teams and oversee project planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, resources, timelines, and delivery.
- Gather requirements with business users, clients, and technical stakeholders. Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support hybrid integration between on-premises applications, Azure cloud services, databases, payment gateways, and enterprise systems.
- Develop secure solutions aligned with banking security standards, identity and access management requirements, encryption practices, PCI requirements, and confidentiality obligations.
- Support microservices and containerised application development using Docker. Kubernetes experience is preferred.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps, Git, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and monitoring tools.
- Support Azure services including Azure Functions, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure SQL.
- Conduct code reviews, design reviews, technical workshops, and architecture discussions.
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents, integration failures, API latency, database performance issues, and testing defects.
- Develop test cases, scenarios, plans, technical documents, user guides, and training materials.
- Deliver training sessions for business users and technical teams.
- Provide timely updates to project stakeholders and participate in client meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum eight years of relevant experience in .NET development, software integration, API development, Azure, DevOps, and software project delivery.
- Proven experience as a Lead Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Software Development Lead, or similar position.
- Strong hands-on experience in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Web API, RESTful services, WCF, and SQL Server.
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and structured or semi-structured databases.
- Experience managing software development projects, scope, budget, resources, risks, schedules, and delivery milestones.
- Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, SDLC, and software delivery practices.
- Experience in client coordination and stakeholder management.
- Arabic speaking is mandatory.
- Candidates currently based in Qatar are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification.
- Microsoft Azure certifications in Development, Architecture, or DevOps.
- Experience with Finastra Essence SDK.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, enterprise service bus platforms, event-driven architecture, and Identity Server.
- Experience with Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Experience in banking, financial services, payments, or another regulated sector.
- Familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Awareness of ArchiMate Enterprise Architecture standards.
