Position: Job Title: Lead Instrumentation Engineer
Job Summary
Oversees the end-to-end instrumentation engineering and site implementation activities for critical systems including process control, safety, and automation. Leads planning, installation, and integration of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring technical alignment with project specifications, international standards, and stakeholder requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the engineering and installation of instrumentation systems, including signal cabling, PLC/DCS integration, and telecom system interfacing.
Review and approve instrumentation deliverables such as datasheets, loop diagrams, hookup drawings, and vendor documentation.
Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and loop check activities to ensure system readiness.
Supervise field instrumentation works, guiding instrument technicians and subcontractors for quality and schedule compliance.
Ensure full compliance with IEC, ISA, and project-specific instrumentation standards.
Coordinate effectively with construction, commissioning, and automation teams for seamless integration and startup.
Interface with control system vendors and contribute to design validation, troubleshooting, and system handover.
Monitor site progress, resolve technical issues, and maintain engineering logs and records as per project protocols.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
Proven experience in instrumentation and control systems within large-scale industrial, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, DCS systems, loop checking procedures, and international instrumentation codes.
Familiarity with integration to central control systems and telecom networks.
Strong leadership, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
