Job Overview
We are looking for an Interim Payment Applications Engineer to manage and coordinate interim payment submissions throughout the project lifecycle. The role will focus on preparing accurate payment applications, measuring completed works, maintaining supporting documentation, and coordinating with project and commercial teams to ensure timely certification and payment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit Interim Payment Applications (IPA) based on actual progress and completed works.
- Measure and evaluate executed quantities in line with approved drawings, BOQs, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project teams, planning teams, and commercial personnel to verify project progress.
- Maintain detailed records of measured works, approved quantities, variations, and previous payment certifications.
- Review BOQs, contract documents, drawings, and approved changes to ensure accurate valuation.
- Compile supporting documents required for payment submissions, including progress records, measurement sheets, approved documents, and relevant site records.
- Track submitted payment applications and follow up on certification, approvals, and payment status.
- Identify discrepancies between actual site progress, measured quantities, and certified amounts.
- Assist in preparing variation claims, additional work valuations, and remeasurement where applicable.
- Maintain an updated log of interim applications, certified values, deductions, retention, advance recovery, and outstanding amounts.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal departments regarding payment-related matters.
- Support preparation of monthly commercial and payment status reports.
- Ensure payment applications are prepared in accordance with contractual procedures and submission timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in interim payment applications, quantity surveying, commercial, or project measurement roles.
- Strong experience in preparing and following up IPAs / Progress Payment Applications.
- Good knowledge of BOQ, quantity measurement, valuation, variations, and contract documentation.
- Experience in structural steel, steel fabrication, aluminium, façade, fit-out, PEB, or construction projects is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, specifications, and contract documents.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and quantity measurement tools.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and follow-up skills.
- UAE project experience is preferred.
