Position: Instock Manager Imports, Global Retail Import

Amazon is seeking a talented and proactive Instock Manager to join our Global Direct Imports team for emerging markets. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire import supply chain process, from manufacturer to Fulfillment Center availability, and develop inventory management strategies to enhance customer experience, sales, and profitability.

Direct Imports is a key strategic initiative for Amazon, experiencing rapid year-over-year growth. The role involves collaboration with various internal teams and external partners to support critical business initiatives and drive continuous improvement across our program, focusing on Hardlines and/or Consumables categories.

We’re looking for an innovative problem-solver with strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to tackle complex supply chain challenges. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent business acumen, project delivery expertise, and relationship management skills. They should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, demanding environment and possess strong proficiency in computer databases and analytical tools.

This position requires exceptional stakeholder management abilities, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and thrive in meeting tight deadlines.

This position is based in Mexico City, Mexico.

Key job responsibilities

Manage the instock function, including forecasting, ordering, capacity management, instock rates, and unhealthy inventory management.

Develop and enhance import ordering strategies to optimize the balance between domestic and import sourcing.

Contribute to buying automation and system auditing initiatives in partnership with technical and product teams.

Work on supply chain optimization and defect reduction in collaboration with operations teams.

Monitor, analyze, and take ownership of key performance indicators such as vendor import share, out-of-stock percentages, vendor lead time, fill rate, unhealthy inventory, and forecast accuracy for import selection.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of with Excel experience

5+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience

Bachelor’s degree, or certificate of completion of studies required

Fluent in both, English and Spanish

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control

Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
