HVAC Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
The HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient operation. The technician performs preventive maintenance, responds to service requests, and ensures compliance with company procedures and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including air conditioners, chillers, package units, split units, VRF/VRV systems, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), and ventilation systems.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems.
- Replace or repair defective components such as compressors, motors, fans, belts, filters, thermostats, relays, and control devices.
- Monitor refrigerant levels, detect leaks, and perform refrigerant recovery and charging in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Clean coils, filters, drain lines, ducts, and other HVAC components to maintain optimal performance.
- Test system performance and ensure proper airflow, temperature control, and energy efficiency.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and service logs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to complete assigned work.
- Recommend equipment improvements or replacements when necessary.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts in good working condition.
Qualifications
- Diploma, ITI, Trade Certificate, or equivalent qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Certification in HVAC or refrigeration systems is an advantage.
- Valid refrigerant handling certification (where required).
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, installation, or repair.
- Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial facilities is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and refrigeration principles.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with HVAC controls and building management systems (BMS) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in using testing instruments and hand tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Working Conditions
- Indoor and outdoor work environments.
- May require shift work, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay: AED2,000.00 – AED2,500.00 per month
