Job Summary
The HSE Supervisor is responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment across mining operations. The role involves conducting inspections, supervising safety compliance, investigating incidents, delivering training, and ensuring compliance with company standards, client requirements, and Saudi regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily HSE activities at the mining project site.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, client requirements, and Saudi Arabian regulations.
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
- Monitor high-risk activities including excavation, blasting, heavy equipment operations, confined space entry, lifting operations, and working at heights.
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Ensure all work permits are properly issued and implemented before work begins.
- Lead daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with HSE requirements.
- Verify that all employees use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate emergency response drills and maintain emergency preparedness.
- Maintain HSE records, reports, inspection checklists, and incident documentation.
- Monitor environmental controls including dust suppression, waste management, fuel handling, hazardous materials, and pollution prevention.
- Support management in achieving project HSE objectives and KPIs.
- Participate in internal and external HSE audits.
- Promote a positive safety culture through continuous awareness and coaching.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of HSE experience, including at least 3 years in mining projects.
- Experience in open-pit mining, quarry operations, or mineral processing is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mining hazards and risk management.
Required Certifications
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
- OSHA 30-Hour (Construction or General Industry).
- IOSH Managing Safely (preferred).
- First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Fire Fighting & Emergency Response Training.
- Defensive Driving Certification (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of mining safety standards and HSE regulations.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Risk assessment and hazard identification.
- Emergency response coordination.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Report writing and documentation.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure in remote mining environments.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

- Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI).
- Completion of scheduled HSE inspections.
- Timely closure of corrective actions.
- Percentage of workforce receiving HSE training.
- Compliance with permit-to-work requirements.

- Environmental compliance with project requirements.
Working Conditions
- Site-based role at a mining project.
- Rotation schedule as per project requirements.
- Exposure to outdoor environments, heat, dust, and heavy equipment operations.
- Ability to work extended hours when required.
Preferred Experience
- Mining and mineral processing projects.
- Open-pit and underground mining operations.
- Heavy earthmoving equipment (excavators, dozers, dump trucks, graders).
- Drilling and blasting activities.
- Contractor HSE management.
- Experience with Saudi mining projects and local regulatory requirements.
Pay: ﷼5,000.00 – ﷼7,000.00 per month
