Job Description
The HSE Engineer advises and assists Project and Construction Management in formulating, implementing, and managing project safety plans. These plans may pertain to multiple job site locations, requiring integrated supervision of programs. Reports functionally to the senior construction site representative and organizationally to the Safety Manager. Ensures that the project safety plan reflects company policy and complies with safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Represent the Safety Manager on construction sites.
Assist the senior construction site representative in establishing and managing the site safety program, identifying and controlling hazards.
Inspect the job site to detect and correct safety hazards.
Supervise first aid personnel in providing care to injured or ill personnel.
Audit accident records and prepare audit reports.
Conduct accident investigations and prepare reports.
Represent management during safety inspections by authorities or insurance carriers.
Review and distribute safety inspection reports with corrective actions.
Provide safety training to workers, covering hazards, procedures, and emergency protocols.
Promote safety awareness and a safety culture on site.
Monitor workplace health conditions and implement health programs.
Maintain HSE documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
At least 8 years of experience in Health and Safety.
Certified by recognized Safety, Health, or Environmental bodies (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
Valid SCE Membership.
Good communication skills.
