Position Overview: A Hostess is the first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant. They are responsible for ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere, managing guest reservations, and assisting with seating arrangements. The hostess plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth operations at the front of the house.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Reception: Greet guests as they arrive, provide a friendly and professional welcome, and guide them to their tables.

Reservation Management: Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently, ensuring minimal wait times and maximizing restaurant capacity.

Waitlist Management: Organize and manage the waitlist for guests, informing them of wait times and ensuring accurate communication.

Table Management: Maintain an organized seating chart, ensuring tables are cleaned and ready for guests promptly.

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries, accommodating special requests, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Communication: Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.

Cash Handling: Handle payments and tips when necessary, ensuring accurate transactions.

Cleaning & Organization: Keep the host stand area neat and organized, ensuring menus, reservation books, and other materials are ready for use.

Assist with Other Duties: Help with opening and closing duties, such as setting up the dining area or cleaning and resetting tables as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Good organizational skills

Basic knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and services

Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred

Ability to stand for long periods and handle a busy work environment

Proficiency in using reservation and POS systems is a plus
