Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, stack, and store materials within the warehouse, production facility, or worksite. The role ensures efficient material movement while maintaining compliance with company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely to load, unload, move, stack, and organize materials.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment to designated locations.
- Inspect forklifts before each shift and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Perform routine forklift checks, including battery, fuel, tires, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Ensure materials are handled without damage and stored correctly.
- Assist with receiving, shipping, and inventory control activities.
- Pick, pack, and stage materials according to work orders or shipping documents.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and equipment inspections.
- Follow warehouse procedures, traffic rules, and safety regulations.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Forklift Operator License/Certification.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or construction environment.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory handling.
- Ability to read and understand work orders and safety instructions.
