Job Summary:
The CNC Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC Laser machines to cut, shape, and form sheet metal according to precise specifications. Experience in working with sheet metal is essential for this role, which requires a high level of accuracy, technical skill, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Set up and operate CNC laser machines to process sheet metal according to job specifications.
Select and load appropriate materials and tooling for each job.
Program machine controls and adjust settings to ensure optimal cutting, punching, and forming performance.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specified dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
Perform test runs and make necessary adjustments to machine settings to maintain accuracy.
Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure machines are in proper working condition.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure efficient operations.
Report equipment malfunctions, defects, or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Documentation and Reporting:
Accurately record production activities, including material usage and machine maintenance logs.
Complete job tickets and production reports as required.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production progress and issues.
Technical Skills:
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Use measurement tools such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges to ensure precision.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical or programming issues with CNC machines.
