Summary of role:
A Control Room Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the cement production process. The operator monitors various systems and equipment from a centralized control room, making adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Production Processes: Continuously observe the cement manufacturing process through monitoring systems, ensuring that all operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
Equipment Operation: Operate and control machinery such as kilns, mills, and conveyors, making adjustments to settings and parameters as needed.
Quality Control: Ensure the quality of the cement by monitoring material inputs and outputs, and conducting regular inspections and tests.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with equipment and processes promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
Data Recording: Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
Communication: Collaborate with other departments and personnel to ensure coordinated efforts and effective problem-solving.
Qualifications and Skills :
Secondary educational certificates or equivalent is required; additional technical training or certification in cement manufacturing or related fields is preferred. Previous experience in a control room or similar role within manufacturing is essential along with proficiency in operating and monitoring complex machinery and systems, with a good understanding of cement manufacturing processes.
Strong attention to detail to identify and address issues efficiently along with problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues are desirable. You must display effective oral and written communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
