Kalandoor Group is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee the operations of our in-house joinery and interior fit-out manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production activities, optimizing factory performance, ensuring quality standards, and delivering projects efficiently within approved timelines and budgets.
With our expertise in turnkey interior fit-out solutions, custom joinery, shop fittings, and bespoke interior works, we are looking for a strong operational leader who can manage production teams, improve workflows, and ensure seamless coordination between factory operations and project execution teams.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in joinery production, furniture manufacturing, carpentry operations, and interior fit-out projects, with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:Factory Operations Management
- Oversee the complete daily operations of the joinery and manufacturing facility.
- Manage production activities including cutting, carpentry, assembly, polishing, painting, finishing, and final quality inspection.
- Develop and implement production plans based on project schedules and delivery requirements.
- Ensure smooth workflow between design, engineering, procurement, production, and installation teams.
- Monitor factory capacity, manpower allocation, and production efficiency.
Production Planning & Project Coordination
- Review project drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, specifications, and material requirements.
- Convert project requirements into detailed production plans and manufacturing schedules.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Teams to ensure timely completion and delivery of joinery items.
- Prioritize production activities based on project deadlines and installation requirements.
- Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Manage and supervise factory teams including joiners, carpenters, machine operators, painters, polishers, and helpers.
- Allocate manpower effectively according to production workload and project priorities.
- Train, motivate, and develop production teams to improve productivity and workmanship quality.
- Establish clear responsibilities and performance expectations for factory staff.
Quality Control & Process Improvement
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures throughout all production stages.
- Ensure all manufactured items comply with approved drawings, specifications, and client expectations.
- Conduct regular inspections of materials, workmanship, finishes, and completed products.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce production errors.
- Improve production processes to minimize material wastage and maximize resource utilization.
Materials & Cost Management
- Coordinate with procurement teams regarding material availability, stock requirements, and supplier deliveries.
- Monitor material consumption and reduce wastage through effective planning.
- Support cost control initiatives through improved production methods and resource management.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, material usage, and operational performance.
Health, Safety & Maintenance
- Ensure compliance with factory health and safety regulations.
- Maintain safe working conditions and enforce proper use of machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate regular maintenance of woodworking machinery, tools, and factory equipment.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the facility.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Production Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in factory management, preferably within: Interior fit-out companies, Joinery factories, Furniture manufacturing, Woodworking production facilities
- Strong knowledge of joinery manufacturing processes including: Custom cabinetry, Doors and wall panels, Furniture production, Decorative elements, Retail and commercial fit-out works
- Proven experience managing production teams and factory operations.
- Strong understanding of shop drawings, material specifications, and finishing standards.
- Experience working with CNC machines, woodworking equipment, and modern joinery production methods is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of UAE interior fit-out and construction industry requirements.
- Good communication skills with the ability to coordinate with senior management, project teams, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in MS Office and production management systems/ERP software is preferred.
- Valid UAE Driving License is preferred.
- UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
- Immediate availability is an advantage.
