We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team.
Job Overview
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates for joinery and furniture manufacturing works. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of woodworking materials, production processes, and pricing, ensuring competitive and profitable quotations while meeting client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for joinery, custom furniture, and interior fit-out projects.
- Perform material quantity take-offs and calculate labor, machinery, and production costs.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with the design, production, procurement, and sales teams to ensure accurate pricing and project feasibility.
- Prepare and submit commercial quotations and tender documents within deadlines.
- Maintain updated costing databases, supplier price lists, and material rates.
- Revise estimates based on design changes, value engineering, or client requirements.
- Assist the project team with budgeting, cost planning, and cost control during project execution.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of UAE experience as an Estimator in furniture manufacturing, joinery, or interior fit-out.
- Strong knowledge of joinery materials, hardware, finishes, manufacturing processes, and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and estimation software.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating luxury residential, commercial, hospitality, or retail fit-out projects.
- Familiarity with local UAE suppliers, subcontractors, and market pricing.
- Knowledge of value engineering and cost optimization techniques.
