Job Description – Architect (Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Approved)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense (ADCD) Approved Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in firefighting and fire protection system design for buildings and infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations, overseeing fire protection designs, and coordinating with regulatory authorities for approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire & Life Safety Design & Compliance:
Develop and review fire and life safety architectural designs for buildings and infrastructure projects.
Ensure all designs comply with UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense (ADCD) regulations.
Prepare and submit architectural drawings for Civil Defense approvals.
Fire Protection System Coordination:
Collaborate with engineers on fire suppression, detection, alarm, and evacuation systems.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure proper integration of fire protection systems in architectural designs.
Evaluate emergency escape routes, fire-rated partitions, and safe evacuation procedures.
Regulatory Approvals & Documentation:
Handle permit applications and liaise with Abu Dhabi Civil Defense (ADCD) for project approvals.
Ensure all necessary documentation and compliance reports are prepared as per regulatory requirements.
Stay updated with the latest fire safety regulations and design standards.
Project Management & Stakeholder Coordination:
Work closely with MEP, structural, and fire protection teams to develop integrated solutions.
Assist in site inspections and provide recommendations for fire safety improvements.
Engage with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
Certifications & Approvals:
Civil Defense License (ADCD Approved).
Certificate Equivalency from the Ministry of Education, UAE (Mandatory).
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in firefighting and fire protection system design.
Proven track record in handling fire safety approvals and compliance documentation.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design software.
Strong knowledge of NFPA, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and ADCD regulations.
Excellent understanding of fire-rated materials, passive fire protection, and evacuation planning.
