Job Title:
Electrical Technician
Minimum Qualifications:
Fluent in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing).
3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering or 2-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering after Higher Secondary School (12th Standard).
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a petrochemical, Oil & Gas plant.
Ability to perform work independently in this type of facility.
Job Requirements (including but not limited to):
Adhere to plant safety standards and procedures.
Be familiar with typical petrochemical plant safety hazards.
Follow standard maintenance procedures, manufacturer’s troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.
Correctly use and maintain test and calibration equipment.
Use standard instruments to measure voltage, amperage, speed, rotation, and vibration.
Troubleshoot and repair ground faults.
Repair electrical motors up to 500 HP, including bearing and seal replacement, motor installation, and connection of starters and circuits.
Maintain battery standby systems (UPS) and inverters.
Read and interpret electrical, relay logic, and schematic drawings for troubleshooting and repair.
Install conduit, enclosures, wiring, connections, and controls up to 480V for new construction.
Repair and maintain cathodic protection systems, overhead cranes, automatic overhead doors, and other electrically operated equipment.
Splice cables up to 500 MCM.
Read and interpret schematics for power distribution systems up to 33KV, including repair and maintenance of 10 MVA transformers.
Work at elevated heights.
Assist and participate in other maintenance activities as required.
Carry out established preventive maintenance procedures on electrical equipment.
Write reports, complete forms, and update drawings and documentation.
Ensure safe and proper care of tools.
Work collaboratively with operations, technical, and maintenance teams.
Contribute to improving instrument reliability and reducing maintenance costs.
Participate in company safety and training programs.
Train subordinates and coworkers.
Report work progress and maintenance activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a major Oil & Gas EPC company.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
