Responsibilities
Advise the department’s Director by providing expert technical, strategic, and financial business advice on all operational elements.
Manage and advise on PMC(s) to ensure control of operational system and process risks, realization of contract benefits, and compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate and advise on corporate policies and programs, identify problem areas, and develop and implement policies to improve operations.
Coordinate activities within various Sections to ensure alignment and support business transformation.
Share knowledge and experience, communicating aims, principles, and practices to deliver world-class services within the wider corporate and governmental framework.
Participate in Executive Management Team Meetings, providing input on department activities and facilitating issue resolution.
Oversee operational and maintenance delivery for water and wastewater treatment functions.
Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Procedures, policies, and regulations.
Lead, manage, guide, and coach team members to meet objectives while working safely and complying with policies and regulations.
Collaborate with other Sections and Departments to achieve KPIs by coordinating activities and outputs.
Review asset risk assessments with the team and identify necessary modifications for asset management.
Prepare and deliver regular and ad hoc reports to identify trends and issues, and recommend actions accordingly.
Ensure the department’s annual expenditure targets are met by supporting program timelines and deliverables.
Provide asset needs, priorities, and strategies for planning and policy development.
Skills
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering with at least 30 years of experience, including a minimum of 10 years in the wastewater industry and 5 years in operation and maintenance organizations.
Educational qualifications obtained from North America, West Europe, or Australia.
Chartered membership in a relevant discipline; preferably accredited by the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or similar.
Deep knowledge of operation & maintenance, project management, contract management, and financial management.
