Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, and drivetrain components.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid replacement, and scheduled servicing.
- Repair and maintain braking, steering, suspension, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems using computerized diagnostic tools.
- Service air brake systems, air suspension systems, and pneumatic components.
- Repair fuel injection systems, turbochargers, and emission control systems.
- Replace or repair worn or damaged components to restore vehicle performance and safety.
- Conduct road tests and post-repair inspections to verify proper operation.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Technical diploma or vocational certification in Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
- Valid commercial or standard driver’s license (preferred).
- Proven experience repairing and maintaining diesel trucks and buses.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and commercial vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment and service software.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair tasks.
