Job Title: Corrugator Deckling Planner
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare daily and/or weekly deckling plans for the corrugator as per the order requirements
· Combine multiple orders (multi-out) based on board grade, flute type, customer delivery dates etc.
· Optimize paper reel width usage to minimize trim waste
· Select appropriate paper reel widths for each run
· Monitor and reduce side trim waste and butt reels/left over reels
· Monitor paper stock levels and prepare weekly and monthly requirements to procurement
· Coordinate with paper purchase team on reel sizes and grades to support prevailing business requirements
· Coordinate with the corrugator supervisor, conversion planner, dispatch and logistics planner as well as customer service department for effective and on-time delivery of orders
· Track order completion and make provisions for any shortfalls
· Adjust plans based on shopfloor realities such as breakdowns, material delays and any
· Maintain Accurate production data and deckling records
· Generate and maintain report records on machine efficiency, trim waste and downtimes.
· Identify improvement opportunities for paper usage, deckle optimization and machine output and recommend these to management.
Qualifications
· Diploma or Degree in engineering, packaging or related field.
· 5 Years experience in corrugator planning or production planning in a high-volume corrugator plant.
· Strong understanding of corrugated board structure, paper grades and flutes
· Experience with corrugator deckling/scheduling software such as Witron, KIWI, ABACA is required
· Strong numerical and analytical skills
· Good communication and coordination skills
· Understanding of the board making process and prior machine experience is highly desired.
